The Town Council will hold a hearing on Monday, January 26, 2026 to receive public input on the acceptance of a grant in the amount of $77,260 from the NH Department of Safety, Homeland Security Grant Program for the Southern NH Special Operations Unit of the Salem Police Department.  A full copy of the public hearing notice may be viewed here.  

The Town Council will hold a hearing on Monday, January 26, 2026 to receive public input on the acceptance of a grant in the amount of $810,000 from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services as part of the Southern New Hampshire Interconnection Project Grant to be used for the design, permitting, and construction of chemical feed components for water quality improvements. The Salem Town Council will hold a hearing on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to receive public input on the acceptance of $60,000 from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services as part of the Lead Service Line Inventory Grant Program. The Town Council will hold a hearing on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to receive public input on proposed amendments to Salem Municipal Code (SMC) Chapter 33 (Ethics). The purpose of the amendment is to delete Chapter 33 of the Municipal Code in its entirety and replace it with a reference to the Town Charter, Article 6, Ethics. The Town Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to receive public input on the acceptance of $21,200.00 in grants from the State of New Hampshire, Office of Highway Safety for the following programs: $5,000.00 (Speed Enforcement Patrols), $8,200.00 (Driving Under the Influence Patrols), $1,800.00 (Distracted Driving Enforcement), $850.00 (Seatbelt Mobilization), $850.00 (Distracted Driving Mobilization), $2,000.00 (Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over), $2,500.00 (Community Outreach & Betterment). The Salem Conservation Commission will conduct a public hearing on an update to the Town Forest Rules at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Knightly Meeting Room (Salem Town Hall) at 33 Geremonty Drive Salem, NH. The Salem Town Council will hold a public hearing  on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to receive public input on the acceptance of two grants from the NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs.
