This project includes the full replacement of the Bridge Street Bridge over the Spicket River. The project was awarded to E.D. Swett Inc from Concord NH.
The Town held a preconstruction meeting on December 9, 2025 and the contractor has begun mobilizing on site.
This work will require a major shutdown of through traffic on Bridge Street from Wheeler Ave to Main Street. Local traffic will be able to access their properties within the shutdown but the work zone will be completely closed off for the duration of the project. The shutdown will begin on January 12, 2026 and last approximately 10 months into late fall 2026. See detour map below. Message boards and signage will be installed prior to shutdown.

Please Note: Due to security, ownership & capacity issues, the access road from Stanwood Road to Hitching Post Lane will remain closed.
Updates and news will be posted on the Town website during the construction of the project.
