The Town of Salem has announced that Bridge Street will undergo a major long-term shutdown due to an upcoming infrastructure improvement project involving the full replacement of Bridge Street Bridge.
Beginning January 12, 2026, Bridge Street will be closed to traffic between Wheeler Avenue and Main Street. Bridge Street will remain open, up to Douglas Drive; however, beyond Wheeler Avenue, it will become a dead-end road.
